Praise in the Park

Are you ready for Praise in the Park 2009!  Are you ready for MercyMe, DecembeRadio, and Addison Road?  We are and we can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for us!

Hey guys check out our new website!  It's new along with so many other areas of Praise in the Park.  You'll see that the City of Lucedale has upgraded the park facilities and there are more improvements in the works for Praise in the Park 2009.

It's been a busy time around Lucedale.  God has blessed our small town in so many ways and none bigger than last year's event.  Having Casting Crowns lead worship with over 12,000 fellow believers was such an awesome experience.  After last year's event people asked how we could top Praise in the Park 2008.  Our answer is we wait to see what God has in store for us each year.  It's hard to predict how we'll be blessed from year to year.  We seek God's direction and he takes care of the rest.  With that said, we are very excited about Praise in the Park 2009.  It will be Saturday, October 10th, 2009 and headlined by MercyMe with opening acts DecembeRadio, and Addison Road.  Continue to pray for the worship leaders and that God's awesome power will be on display to all within an earshot of the park.

May 25th Update

Ok, in case you missed the email (btw sign up for the email mailing list to stay current with our activities), the vending applications are ready at the link at the top.  Booths are now available for ministry related groups, so if your youth group, Sunday School class, or etc. would like to raise money for your ministry then fill out the application and pay your fee.  The quicker the better if you want to serve food.  There are a limited number of spaces so don't delay.  Also, the quicker you return your application and fee the more choices of food for you to serve.  It is our policy that there be a variety of food because we don't want everybody serving nachos and hot dogs.  Remember no drink sales - all drinks sales will be by Praise in the Park Inc. so we can keep offering $10 tickets for groups like MercyMe and Casting Crowns.  We do allow some non-food merchandise sales so email and we'll discuss.

If you do not want to sell food or merchandise and only want an informational booth for your ministry then email us to discuss your ministry.  Again space is limited so don't email on October 9th expecting to get a spot.

Food / Merchandise Vending Fee - $200
Ministry Information Booths -$100

Although tickets have not been printed yet, you can go ahead and purchase your tickets now and they will be mailed following printing.  You can purchase from the ticket link at the top.

Also, check out the bands in the contest - these guys are awesome.  You never know who'll be the next Casting Crowns or MercyMe.

May 10th Update

We have finalized the rules for the band contest.  Go to the tab at the top for more information.  We are now accepting applications for contestants.  Let us know if you have any questions.

We expect to have the requirements finalized for the vending soon.  Stay tuned for that informaion.

Did you know that MercyMe, DecembeRadio, and Addison Road were all nominated for Dove Awards this year?  Congrats to DecembeRadio for winning the Dove for Rock Album of the Year - Satisfied.  MercyMe was nominated for Group of the Year and Addison Road was nominated for New Artist of the Year.  DecembeRadio was nominated for Rock Recorded Song, Rock/Contemporary Recorded Song, and Rock Album.

May 1st, 2009

Well it's May so that puts us only 6 months away from Praise in the Park 2010.  We've been getting a lot of email about the event and that excites us that people are excited.  We think our line-up this year is our best yet.

Here is where we stand on a few things:

  • Ticket prices will be the same as last year:  $10 for groups of 15 or more, $12 advance tickets, and $15 at the gate.  Is there a better deal in Christian music?  We don't think so.
  • Ministry food booths will be available again this year.  However, the location and requirements will be different.  We're still working out the details on location, requirements, and price.  Stay tuned!
  • Based on the popularity of last year's band contest, we will sponsor another contest again this year.  The two winners will still open up the event at 4PM.  We're still working out the new details of the contest and plan to have something ready to go ASAP.
