Proverbs 14:23 says "your hard work will be rewarded" and the hard work by Godspeed3 and Centertree has paid off the last three years as they have been multiple winners of our band contest. Not only do these guys put forth the effort to perform by winning the contest, but you can tell from their talent and preparation they work hard in their music and praises. Thanks guys for supporting Praise in the Park!
Now on to 2011! Like previous years, this year's contest will reward the two hardest working Christian groups with an opportunity of a lifetime. The two groups that pre-sell the most tickets by October 8th will each get a 20 minute set to open Praise in the Park.
The rules of the contest are as follows:
- In order to enter the contest, you must be approved by Praise in the Park Inc. by submitting a sample of your music to us by email or link to your myspace music site or equivalent.
- Once approved your group's name will appear on the approved list at this website. If your name does not appear on the contest page then you are not officially entered into the contest.
- As an approved contest entrant you can pre-sell Praise in the Park 2011 tickets for $10 each. To help streamline this year's event, you can direct your ticket purchasers to this website to buy tickets directly from us and we'll mail them out. The ticket purchasers must indicate which group they are purchasing tickets for (in the dropdown list) at the time of purchase. No back-voting!
- On October 8th, we'll announce the two contest winners and contact you to begin planning for your performance as an opening act.
- A new rule we're adding this year is that all entrants must purchase 10 advance tickets after we approve your entry.
- Unfortunately drama and dance teams are not eligible to win. Because of the stage configuration and limited space on the stage, this is not the ideal event for these type of performances.
Pre-selling tickets for this line-up for only $10 will not be difficult. This is an easy contest to win for those willing to put a little effort into it. There are no restrictions on how you advertise to pre-sell tickets: contact youth groups, put up posters in your church, sell tickets from your facebook, or sell tickets at one of your performances. The only restriction is that you do not sell tickets for more than $10 (i.e., no profit making). Printed tickets will not be available until August but until then you can direct ticket buyers to the website to purchase online tickets and we'll mail them when we receive them.
